In February 2009, my server was shut down and I lost everything on my art website, much of which I had not saved in my computer. However, I knew somehow, that God was going to speak to me through this and He will always turn things around for good if we love and trust Him. Up to that point, the last image I painted before this happened, was inspired by a pencil drawing of Christ on the cross, which I had drawn the year after I had received Christ, in July 1986.. It was called “The Final Hour” and I had written a poem with the drawing. At that time, in 1987, I was asked by the leader of an outreach center (in a coffee bar) to take this picture and paint a wall mural, with the poem scrolled on either side. It turned out to be very impactful - riveting, actually. So the Lord gave me inspiration to paint this again,.and at the same time He was saying to me, “Lay it all down at the cross.” For the second time, I gave the talent back to Him and “laid in upon the altar,” not knowing if God would “resurrect” it. He had asked me to do this in 1995 and I had waited 10 years, until 2005, until the Lord finally spoke to me and said, “It’s time to pick up the brush and paint for Me—follow Me,.” This began a journey of rediscovering the technical aspects of painting in oil and acrylics and learning to reveal His love and nature through the visual arts.
I began a fast to pray… The Lord spoke to me on the tenth day concerning the gift of creativity that He had placed in me. I heard Him say, “Mirror My Word.” I immediately thought of some of the messages He had given to me during that time, however, what stood out strong to me was the revelation to Ezekiel of the Throne of God in Chapter 1. I had pondered on this passage for many years, fascinated by God’s interaction with the earth realm upon a “Chariot of Fire.” It is an artist’s dream, yet extreme challenge to attempt to articulate the magnificence and glory of God, especially seen in this vision that Ezekiel beheld...
And so it was, that at this time in March of 2009, that I discovered a new and exciting tool that would help give “wings” to what I perceived in the “canvas of my imagination” - digital media. This new tool, though I have not yet mastered it’s breadth, has enabled me to create beyond my limited natural realm of talent (using paint and brush,) to a new and exciting computer digital realm of technology which removed many boundaries of frustration I had been experiencing. The Lord said that it would “support” my creativity. He confirmed to me that in order to articulate clearly the revelation that was being released in this hour, and to reach a generation that demands clarity and is hungry for truth, that digital art would be a tool or key to unlock visual mysteries and to help “mirror “ the Word of God and the activities of Heaven. People are hungry to see things they have never seen before. I believe that it is time to reveal the very nature and plan of God and His Kingdom that it would come to earth, through prophetic revelation, declaration and words of the Kingdom, bringing His Gospel message to all mankind, and preparing the Way of the Lord and His Coming ! Digital art has helped me to go where I’ve never gone before. The Lord made it clear that I was not to be afraid or wary of using technology to support creativity in this hour, since He was the One releasing knowledge in these endtimes.
He is revealing Himself as Creator in this hour and asking us to co-create with Him, mirroring what He is doing in Heaven. As Jesus said, “I only do what I see the Father do.” Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, Oh Lord, on earth as it is in Heaven !
As in the words of Jason Upton, in his song, God “wants to take us to new places…new revelation… new perspective…an aerial view….It’s time to spread out your wings. It’s time to shake off the things that hold you down…It’s time to spread out your wings and fly…I have set you free from the things that held you bound…”
